President Barrow Receives Saudi Envoy

H. E President Adama Barrow on Tuesday, 10th October 2023, received a Special Envoy of His Majesty, Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Minister of Tourism, H.E Ahmad Al Khateed, at the State House in Banjul.

President Barrow welcomed the Special Envoy and appreciated the excellent relationship between The Gambia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He assured the Envoy of The Gambia’s support for Saudi to host Expo 2030 and the FIFA World Cup.

The President extended his warm greetings to King Salman and thanked the Kingdom for its cooperation with The Gambia in various areas, including the OIC projects, Education and committed to a continued partnership for the socioeconomic development of their countries.

H.E Ahmad Al Khateeb said he delivered a special message from the King of Saudi and also discussed areas of cooperation that they could explore, tourism and social areas they could render their support, as well as The Gambia’s participation at the Africa Summit to be hosted by Saudi Arabia. H.E Khateed appreciated The Gambia’s support for Saudi Arabia to host the next FIFA World Cup and also sought it to support his country’s bid to host EXPO 2030.
