His Excellency President Adama Barrow has on Friday, 30th December 2022, bade farewell to Colonel Cheikh Omar Tamba, the ECOMIG Commander in The Gambia, whose term of duty has come to an end. He is being replaced by Colonel Ousman Alieu Kane.
The President awarded certificate of appreciation to the outgoing commander for his good work and commitment, and expressed gratitude and appreciation for the support of ECOMIG in The Gambia.
In his remarks Colonel Tamba said: “When your neighbour has a problem you should be there to help. This is why ECOMIG is here and I am satisfied with our work in The Gambia. I pray to God that we continue to have peace”.
