Former Senegalese Prime Minister Mouhammed Boun Abdallah Dionne passes away

The former Prime Minister and candidate in the last presidential election, Mouhammed Boun Abdallah Dionne, died in Paris on Friday 5 April 2024, news monitored on Seneweb indicated.

Bedridden just a few days before the 24 March elections, the former Benno Bokk Yakaar leader, who had broken away from the presidential camp to run for power, was rushed to Paris on election day for better care.

The late Boun Abdallah Dionne, a graduate of Pierre-Mendès University in Grenoble, died at the age of 64. He will be laid to rest at his native town of Gossas in Senegal.
