Former Burkina Faso police chief commits suicide

Senegal’s leading online news medium Seneweb has reported that Mr. Dieudonné Ouattara, former Director General of the Burkina Faso national police, committed suicide on Tuesday, 26th July 2022.

According to Seneweb, the deceased used his service weapon to commit suicide Tuesday morning at his home in Nonghin in the Rimkieta district of Ouagadougo. “It was during his evacuation to a hospital that he gave up the ghost, reveals the source.“

The late police chief Dieudonné Ouattara, according to Seneweb, was appointed Director General of the National Police on 5th January 2022 by former President of Burkina Faso Roch Kaboré.

“A few months after the fall of the former president, he was replaced by Roger Ouédraogo, one of his graduates. He spent only three months at the head of the national police.“
