Fuel Shortage Delays President Barrow’s Flight To Ghana

An aeroplane from Senegal marked 6V-AJD Trans Air, Senegal Airline, which airlifted President Adama Barrow and his delegation to Accra, Ghana, to attend the Extraordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, was delayed at the Banjul International Airport in Yundum, on 3rd June 2022 for nearly three (3) hours due to low fuel, LamToro News has learnt.

Senior authorities have disclosed to LamToro News that the Senegalese flight came with low fuel and officials took time negotiating to make refueling arrangements and ensure that there is enough fuel in the flight before departure.

“President Barrow and his delegation boarded the flight and waited for nearly three hours before fueling was done and they took off. This is more or less an act of sabotage and is not safe for the president’s security. Action should be taken because such arrangements are usually done before the time. Such negligent act must be avoided next time because this could pose a real threat,“ said one of the sources who wished to remain anonymous.

A top official at the airport (name withheld), said this is very embarrassing and sad. “People tasked with such responsibilities must be serious with their job,“ she remarked.

LamToro News has also gathered credible information that the said Senegalese aeroplane is a commercial flight.

President Barrow and his delegation later made it to Ghana, where they attended the Extraordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government held on 4th June 2022.
