Private legal practitioner Lawyer Malick H.B Jallow has reacted to the government White Paper on the TRRC recommendations, saying it is an exemplary display of political will to deliver justice.
Lawyer Jallow’s reaction came following the release of the Government White Paper on the implementation of the recommendations of the TRRC.
“We are looking forward to the timely execution of all the endorsements. The government White Paper is an important milestone but we must not be complacent,“ he told LamToro News.
He observed that there is still a lot of work to do, adding that this development is certainly a fundamental step in ensuring timely justice for the victims.
Lawyer Jallow who worked with the United Nations Special Court for Sierra Leone, the International Criminal Court, the United Nations Development Programme, the Ministry of Justice of the Gambia, and the Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa, also stated that the full implementation of the endorsements on the White Paper is also important in giving domestic impetus to the mantra that the era of impunity is over.
