President Barrow Decorates GAF High Command

The decoration ceremony was held at the State House in Banjul involving three general officers of The Gambia Armed Forces, namely Lieutenant General Mamat O.A Cham, Major General Ousman Gomez and Brigadier General Sait Njie.

The three were decorated as Lieutenant General, Major General and Brigadier General, respectively, for their outstanding contributions and achievements to the nations.

The President applauded them for their outstanding performance and encouraged them to re-double their efforts to promote innovative ways to rebuild GAF.

“It reflects the recognition of your dedication to choose leadership qualities and loyalty to the nation.” President Barrow stated. We look up to you as a disciplined force and your public institution to defend our country against any external or internal aggressions. He added

Upon accepting the decoration, the Chief of Defense Staff, Lieutenant General Mamat O.A Cham, expressed his deepest appreciation and reiterated to improve the performance of the armed forces, which will be anchored on the 3 C’s “capacity building, confidence and corporation.”
