Zelensky rules out negotiations with Moscow after meeting Macky Sall and delegation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has again ruled out any negotiations with Russia following his meeting with African leaders, including President Macky Sall, who have come to try to mediate between Kiev and Moscow.

“Today I made it clear during our meeting (with the African delegation) that allowing any negotiations with Russia now, when the occupier is on our land, means freezing the war, freezing the pain and suffering”, he declared at a joint press conference with African leaders.

Before launching its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, “Russia tried for a long time to deceive everyone with (the) Minsk peace agreements”, concluded in the past to try to settle the conflict with Moscow-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine and which Russia used to prepare a new offensive against its neighbour, accused Mr Zelensky.

“It is clear that Russia is once again trying to use its old tactic of deception. But Russia will no longer succeed in deceiving the world”, he added. “We are not going to give it a second chance”, he said.
