Thumbs up: ASP Mariama Barry honoured, receives UN medal in Sudan

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mariama Barry of The Gambia Police Force has been awarded THE UNITED NATIONS MEDAL in recognition of her duties in the service of peace as South Darfur Police Liaison Officer in the United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS), Mass Jallow disclosed on Facebook, on 31st January 2023.

“The humble Mariama Barry is well admired and cherished by all her colleagues serving the United Nations in different capacities and the people of South Darfur for what she represents. She raised the Gambian flag higher with dignity at the United Nations which deserves national honour as a true icon.

Our country (MamaLand – The Gambia) is ably represented in South Darfur, region of Sudan thanks to ASP Mariama Barry. Our nation is proud of you, Our generation is even prouder. May Allah continue to guide and protect you in the execution of your duties in Darajat of our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW-Aameen Ya Rabbi,” he remarked.
