The Gambian leader President Adama Barrow is expected to begin his annual leave today, following the flood disaster that hit the country last week.
Authorities confirmed to LamToro News that the president is expected to leave Banjul around 12 pm today for his birthplace of Mankamang Kunda in the Jimara Constituency, Upper River Region.
State House had earlier on 3rd August, announced that the president was supposed to take his annual official leave for 15 working days and was expected to resume duties on Wednesday, 31st August 2022.
However, President Barrow could not begin his leave as planned due to heavy flooding that led to disaster among amny families across the country. The President canceled his scheduled date and went around the Greater Banjul Area and the capital Banjul to see for himself, the damages caused by the flood and discuss with his government to find solutions. He also visited victims of floods and listened to their concerns and problems.
