PRESS RELEASE:

His Excellency President Adama Barrow has arrived in Accra, Ghana, for the 61st ECOWAS Ordinary Session of Heads of State and Government. The summit scheduled to take place on Sunday 3rd July 2022 will bring together ECOWAS Leaders as they continue to review the political developments in Mali, Guinea, Guinea Bissau and Burkina Faso.

The Heads of State will, amongst other issues, continue to ensure peace and constitutional order are restored in these countries.

The ECOWAS Heads of State are also expected to confirm the appointment of The Gambia’s Dr Omar Touray as the new President of the ECOWAS Commission for 2022-2026.
