Sankung Fofana appointed new Deputy Chief of Protocol

The counsellor at the Gambia High Commissioner in India Mr Sankung Fofana has been appointed as the new deputy chief of Protocol.

Mr Fofana’s appointment took effect last week and was further confirmed this week in a press release signed by Ebrima G. Sanakareh, official spokesperson of the Gambia Government.

The press release signed on 30th January 2023 also stated that the former Deputy Ambassador of The Gambia to Russia, Mr Lamin S. Bojang has been appointed as the new Defence Attache at the Gambia Embassy in Guinea Bissau.

Several other permanent secretaries were also redeployed and all appointments took immediate effect.

Meanwhile, the new deputy Chief of Protocol Sankung Fofana started as a Protocol officer at the Gambia High Commissioner in India for many years until 2018 when he was redesignated and promoted as First secretary.

In 2021 he was again promoted to a Counsellor, a position he held until his latest appointment.
