Pap Ndow’s trial adjourned

The trial of Abdoulie Ndow widely known as Pap Ndow was on Monday, 1st August 2022, adjourned by Magistrate Mben Faal of the Kanifing Magistrate’s Court to Tuesday, 9th August 2022.

The accused Pap Ndow is being charged with obtaining money by false pretense and with intent to defraud, contrary to the Criminal Code, Laws of The Gambia.

The victim has claimed that the accused has defrauded her with over D2M, the money she had planned to use for the purchase of her household items for her new house.

At Monday’s sitting, the first prosecution witness (PW1) Ms. Aminata Faye Manjang was asked to present the agreement signed between her and the accused Pap Ndow in the presence of witnesses and police officers sometime in March this year at the Banjulinding Police Station before the accused person jumped bail.

The witness produced the agreement and also presented receipts of payments of money she made to Pap Ndow in order for him to buy household items for her new house. The receipts were all tendered and marked as exhibits and the agreement which was signed by both parties and witnesses was also tendered and marked.

However, the accused Pap Ndow denied signing the agreement paper and his lawyer I. Dibba objected to tendering the document.

The case was adjourned to 9th August for continuation. Commissioner Sanneh and ASP Keita represented the IGP and the complainant.
