Former DLEAG officer Lamin Sima arrested with ‘50 bundles‘ of Cannabis

Ex-Sergeant Lamin Sima, a former officer of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency of The Gambia (DLEAG), was arrested yesterday with 50 bundles of suspected Cannabis by narcotics agents under DLEAG Commissioner Mawlud Faal of Brikama, West Coast Region.

“Yes it is confirmed, he was arrested with the said bundles of Cannabis,“ authorities confirmed to LamToro News.

However, LTN could not get confirmation from the spokesperson of DLEAG at the time of publication but will follow up on the case for more updates.

Readers would recall that Lamin Sima, Inspector Dawda Kanuteh, a serving officer of DLEAG, and one Lamin Jarju, known as Elay, an ex-convict, were sometime in June 2022 arrested and detained at the Anti Crime Unit in Kotu. The suspects were allegedly accused of robbing an 80-year-old British national called Michael Sellen.

Reports indicated that the suspects took away D60,000 from the said British national.
