Dr. Touray officially hands over to new Vice President Dr. Joof

Out-going VP Dr. Touray and Dr. Joof, new VP

The outgoing vice president of the Republic of The Gambia, Dr. Isatou Touray, has today, 5th May, 2022 officially handed over office to the newly appointed vice president His Excellency Dr. Alieu Badara Joof .

Dr. Touray thanked HE President Barrow for the opportunity accorded her to serve and for the support throughout her stint in office since March 15th, 2019.

The new VP Dr. Alieu Badara Joof was the Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology until his appointment yesterday by President Adama Barrow.

Vice President Joof was appointed alongside 18 other Cabinet ministers by President Barrow yesterday, during a major cabinet reshuffle since Barrow’S re-election in the last presidential election held on 4th December 2021.
