Alleged scammer who took D2M from Swedish- Gambian lady arrested by Interpol in Senegal, handed over to Gambia Police Force

Abdoulie Ndow widely known as Pape Ndow, a native of Boyram village in the Central River Region has been arrested by Interpol in Mbao, Senegal, and was handed over on Wednesday to the Gambia Police Force for allegedly deceiving a Swedish-Gambian lady,( who wished to remain anonymous for now) by taking D2M from her under false pretence.

LamToro News gathered information that Pape Ndow who is currently detained at the Police Headquarters in Banjul, was arrested by Interpol in Mbao, a suburb of Dakar, Senegal, on Monday, 27th June 2022 in the presence of his second wife who was reported to have just arrived from Spain.

The Swedish-Gambian lady told LamToro News that she met Pape Ndow in The Gambia sometime last year during the campaign of the Presidential election.

“He told me he is a businessman in Turkey and promised to sell me some furniture and household items for my new house. I gave him D500, 000.00 cash while we were in The Gambia, and the rest of the money I used to send him when I came back to Sweden. The total amount of money he took from me is D2M. The guy is fake, he lies a lot and has deceived me. I didn’t receive any household items or any other material he promised me,“ the lady told LamToro News.

A senior police officer (anonymous) told LTN that the suspect was sometime in March arrested and questioned this matter at the Banjulinding Police Station but he jumped bail and fled to Senegal.

“His case is very serious and he will be taken to court as soon as investigations are completed. Also it will be difficult for him to get bail now,” he remarked.

Meanwhile, LTN will contact the police for more details on this case. We shall give updates to our readers on this case as it progresses.
