The Gambian leader, President Adama Barrow has appointed Honourable Yankuba J.N Sonko as the Chairperson of the Local Government Service Commission. Hon. Sonko and three others, namely, Safie Lowe-Ceesay, former Minister of Health, Abdoulie Sallah, former Secretary General and head of the Civil Service and one Bahai Hydara have been appointed to serve as Commissioners of the Local Government Service Commission.

In a similar development, President Barrow also appointed Ramond Sock, Kebba Njie, Juldeh Ceesay, Abdoulie Manneh, and Baboucarr Mbaye as members of the Lands Commission, with Ramond Sock serving as Chairperson.

These Commissioners were sworn in at the State House in Banjul on Monday.
