
Senegal’s President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has dismissed his Director of Cabinet Pape Mada Ndour, effective 28th February 2025.
According to Senegal government’s official newspaper Le Soleil Digital, “By decree number 2025 – 346 of 28 February 2025, the President of the Republic has dismissed the Minister, Head of Cabinet, Pape Mada Ndour.”
Ndour is a renowned Pastef militant and a diplomat. He was First Secretary at the Senegalese Embassy in Morocco. He was also President Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s first Protocol since he was elected president in March 2024.
Pape Mada Ndour becomes the second top official to be fired from the Presidency since President Diomaye Faye came to power. First was Cheikh Oumar Diagne, a former Presidental Adviser on Religious Affairs. He was fired on 31st December 2024 for labelling Senegalese riflemen who served during France’s colonial period as “traitors”.
