
Mariama Jallow-Badjie is now head of the Community Policing Unit of the Gambia Police Force, LamToro News has learnt.
She took over from Deputy Commissioner of Police Lamin Jaiteh, who was earlier this month re-assigned to take over from Commissioner Ansumana Kinteh as Chief of Police Operations of the Gambia Police Force. Kinteh is now the Commissioner of Human Rights and Professional Standard Unit.
Supt. Mariama Jallow Badjie has been very instrumental in the community policing job and she now heads the unit until a confirmation is done.
Meanhwile, the Gambia Police Force has indicated in its yesterday’s publication of the activities of the Community Policing Unit that Supt. Mariama Jallow heads the said unit.
The Community Policing Unit in collaboration with the GIZ Police Programme recently concluded a three-week outreach campaign across the country.
The initiative, according to the GPF, is aimed at enhancing police-community relations and promote proactive crime prevention strategies.
