UDP Leader Mourns Late Col. Mboob

The Party Leader and Secretary General of the United Democratic Party (UDP)Lawyer Ousainou ANM Darboe has mourned the death of the State Guards Commander Colonel Abdoulie Mboob of the Gambia Armed Forces.

In his condolence message,the former Vice President of the Republic of The Gambia Laywer Darboe said: “I am deeply saddened to hear of the untimely death of Colonel Abdoulie Mboob of the Gambia Armed Forces. The tragic loss occurred in the early hours of today 26th May 2024 after a brief illness.

On behalf of the National Executive Committee and the entire membership of the UDP and indeed on my own behalf I write to extend our deepest condolences to Colonel Mboob’s family and friends, the CDS of the Gambia and the Army Commander. May Allah grant his soul eternal peace in Jannatul Firdawsi.“

Colonel Mboob, he stated, has served the nation with integrity and dignity. He described Mboob as a fine soldier by all accounts, adding that he was loyal to his oath of allegiance.

“May his young family be granted the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss,“ the message ends.
