Commissioner Lamin Banda, the head of Policy and Planning at the Gambia Police Force was on Tuesday granted bail following his arrest and detention last Sunday, LTN has learnt.
The embattled commissioner and others including a Nigerian scrap metal dealer are being investigated by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Gambia Police Force, in connection with a botched scrap metal deal, involving an old public ferry that laid in ruins at the Bamba Tenda – Yelli Tenda Crossing point.
Sources also informed this medium that no charges have been brought against the suspects yet as the matter is still being investigated. “However, a cautionary statement was taken from him, but he has denied wrongdoing,“ our source added.
