Mariama Bom Sowe, the head coach of the Police Ladies football club told the media that Red Scorpions will clinch the Gambia Football Federation Women’s Division 1 League if they are destined to win the coveted league. 

Mariama, who is the gaffer of the Gambia Women’s Senior team made these comments in a post-match interview with journalists following their humiliating 4-0 defeat against Choro Mbenga’s Red Scorpions. 

“We want to win but God does not destine it, so we take it with good faith. They were the better side and they won. I’m congratulating them.” Mariama Bom Sowe stated.

And she added: “This is football, luck was on their side but I have learned a lot in today’s game. When we resume on Monday we will work on our weak points.”

Red Scorpions hammered the Police Ladies 4-0 to open up a 4-point gap at the summit of The Gambia Football Federation Women’s League table. 

The U-20 gee-whiz star, Fatoumatta Jammeh scored a brace while Ola Buwaro and Kumba Kuyateh both registered their names on the score sheet as Red Scorpions matches closer in their quest to dethrone the Police Ladies as Champions of the Women’s Premier League. 

Despite trailing four points behind, Red Scorpions, the Police Ladies coach is still adamant about winning the league. 

“I’m coming all out to win the rest of the matches, if Allah say they are going to win the league, they will win or if Allah said I am going to win the league again, I will. I won the league twice a row on two occasions, I won the FA twice a row on two occasions, and the Super Cup four times,” Mariama Bom Sowe said.

The Red Scorpions open up a four lead at the summit of the Gambia’s Women’s League 1 table with just three matches left before the end of the league.
