SUBJECT: H.E PRESIDENT ADAMA BARROW SET TO INAUGURATE THE USET BRIKAMA CAMPUS AND PRESIDE OVER THE FIRST USET CONVOCATION CEREMONY
The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology wishes to inform the public that His Excellency President Adama Barrow, the President of the Republic of the Gambia, and Chancellor of USET will officially inaugurate the ultramodern University of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology campus in Brikama, West Coast Region. In the same vein, H.E President Adama will preside over the first-ever USET Convocation ceremony of graduates of the certificate, diploma, higher national diploma and the first cohort of the Engineering degree programme.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, 21st June 2025 starting at 9:00 AM at the USET campus in Brikama, West Coast Region.
The ultramodern USET Brikama Campus includes 12 classrooms, 5 studios, 28 offices, a 250-seat auditorium, a conference meeting room, 15 modern and fully equipped engineering laboratories, and 4 workshops, namely the Welding, Automotive, Mechanical, and Theory of Machines workshops, all furnished with ultramodern machinery and tools.
During the ceremony, His Excellency President Adama Barrow will inaugurate the newly constructed University of Education, The Gambia Dormitories funded by MRC Holland Foundation and constructed by Gigo’s Construction. After which President Barrow will inaugurate the state-of-the art USET Brikama Campus and preside over the USET convocation ceremony.
The event will be attended by CEO’s, the financier of the project, the World Bank through the ACE Impact for Development Project, Contractor and Consultant of the Project, and MRC Holland Foundation.
Also in attendance will be Cabinet Ministers, National Assembly members, Governors, the Diplomatic community, the USET Community, the residents of West Coast Region and other stakeholders and well-wishers from the Gambia and beyond.
As a national event, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, the USET community and the Government of The Gambia kindly request the prayers of the Gambian people and friends of The Gambia for a sustainable, vibrant, and productive stay in the new USET Campus in Brikama.
