
News reaching LamToro News indicates that a 47-year-old tourist identified as Mr Krisztian (full name withheld) from Budapest, Hungary was bitten by a snake at while using the toilet at Sansanding Lodge in Laminkoto in the Central River Region.

A reliable source hinted that the said tourist was taken to the Janjanbureh, where he was taken care of by a medical doctor who referred him to Bansang Hospital the same day. “The incident happened two weeks ago . Before his referral to Bansang, he was taken care of by a health officer and one doctor who came with him and many other people from Hungary. When he reached at Bansang Hospital, he was again referred to the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul due to the seriousness of the snake bite on his private part,” said a source.

Sources informed this medium that the said tourist is part of a group of adventure tourists who came from Hungary via Bamako, Mali by land, driving vehicles. “They drove all the way from Budapest, Hungary to Africa and they have gone through many countries. They are part of a group dubbed The Great African Run,” said the source.
The source also added that the doctors were communicating with the Honorary Consul of the Gambia to Hungary Sir Farimang Saho, who helped them to amke arrangements for the patient to be quickly admitted at the Intensive Care Unit of the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital. “The patient also told the doctors that he could not describe the size of the snake and could not establish whether or not it was venomous,” our source said.
