Inspector Siman Lowe has been appointed as the new Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Gambia Immigration Department (GID), LamToro News has learnt.
He replaces the former PRO Mamanding Dibba who has held the public relations office job since July 2017. Dibba has been promoted to the rank of a Deputy Commissioner and has been redeployed as Coordinator of Press and Public Relations.
Inspector Lowe is a youth leader and a product of the University of the Gambia.
Reacting to his appointment, Inspector Lowe said: “I am honoured to commence the role of Public Relations Officer of The Gambia Immigration Department.I wish to take this opportunity to extend my appreciation to the Director General and entire GID command for the trust bestowed upon me and the promotion of youth participation in leadership.”
“Following my two-year service to the University of The Gambia Students’ Union and UTG-Social Sciences and Humanities Students’ Association respectively, as Information and Communications Minister, I take this responsibility with a renewed commitment to unlearn, learn and relearn.It’s a call to duty, and I’m bound to continue the legacy of my most cherished predecessor, open up to more guidance and serve with dedication in enhancing the work of the department,” he posted on Facebook.
