The knock out stages started on Friday in the ongoing Sami Karantaba Football Tournament in Karantaba, Sami District in the Central River Region north.

The first game played on Friday was between Karantaba Wollof FC and Sami Tenda FC. The Karantaba Wollof boys thrashed Sami Tenda FC by 4 – 1.

Earlier, Karantaba Wollof FC led their group with 7 points and 5 goals whiles Sami Tenda FC became second in their group with 4 points, leading them to the knock out stage.

In early minutes of the first half Karantaba Wollof FC took the lead from striker Salif Ndimballan alias Cole Palmer. Few minutes on Sami Tenda were awarded a penalty and they equalized. After playing for few minutes again, Karantaba Wollof FC had a free kick, a few yards from the 18 yard and was scored by their winger Amadou Jallow.The first half ended 2 -1 in favor of Karantaba Wollof FC.

The second half began with a powerful shot from Ousman Sambou alias Camacinga, assisted by Salif Ndimballan who also assisted another goal from Alagie Gaye with a powerful shot from outside the box. The game ended 4 goals to 1 in favor of Karantaba Wollof FC who now proceeds into the Semi final.

The Karantaba Wollof FC is hoping to play against the winner between Karantaba Dutukoto FC or Changai Wollof FC.

It would be recalled that Karantaba Wollof FC has earlier played against Changai Wollof in the group stages and the game ended 1 -1.
