Gambia Government authorities have instructed for a Board of Investigation to be set up in the ongoing investigation on the ex-Brigadier General Bora Colley, an alleged Jungler’s case, LamToro News has learnt.

“The board will consist of officers from the State Intelligence Services (SIS), Gambia Armed Forces (GAF), Gambia Police Force (GPF), and the Ministry of Justice,” said an official.

In another development, LamToro News also learnt that the former Brigadier Bora Colley has been escorted to Ndemban Clinic in Bakau for medical check -up . However, a source said the decision to give him a medical check-up is in respect of his basic human right but he is not admitted.

When contacted to shed light on this issue, the Director of Press and Public Relations, Colonel Lamin K. Sanyang, confirmed that he was granted access to medical check-up. He said General Bora Colley is still detention under the Military Police and investigations into his case will continue.

Asked whether or not he is charged, the GAF spokesperson said Colley’s fate will be determined by the outcome of the investigation. He also confirmed that there will be a Board of Investigation.

Readers would recall that Bora Colley was arrested on Friday, 9th August following his surrender to the Military Police at Yundum Barracks upon his return to the Gambia. Colley and other alleged Junglers abruptly left the Gambian territory in 2017 following the exile of the former President of The Gambia Yahya Jammeh after his defeat in the 2016 presidential election.
