About 200 senior police officers have been promoted to various ranks from Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) to Commissioner ranks, LamToro News has learnt.
“The latest promotions took effect on 1st June 2024,“ said a source, who added that they have received their individual letters.
“Yes we have received our letters of promotion“ said one of the promoted senior officers who wishes to remain anonymous.
The promotion included the acting AIG of Police Operations Pateh S.H Jallow whose promotion as AIG is confirmed.
Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) such as Adourahman Demba, Famara Jobarteh who is currently away in New York with the IGP on an official mission, Mustapha Ndong, Famara Saidyba, Buba Jassey, Ken Mendy in LRR, Ansumana Sanyang and Juldeh Camara have been promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police (CP).
Similarly, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Fakebba Darboe is also promoted to the rank of Commissioner.
A source from the Public Service Commission (PSC) told LamToro News that some officers some Chief Superintendents were promoted directly to Deputy Commissioner of Police rank. “And some Chief Superintendents, Superintendents and Deputy Superintendents were promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP),“ the source disclosed.
