Colonel Abdoulie Bah has been appointed as the new Battalion Commander of the State Guards, LamToro News has learnt.

A military source confirmed to LamToro News that the new State Guards Commander Colonel Bah reported to work on Tuesday, 18th June 2024.

Colonel Bah, widely known by his sobriquet ‘Rangers‘ is a well known, discipline and hard working officer of the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF). He replaces the late  Colonel Abdoulie Mboob, who died due to a brief illness on 25th May 2024 while admitted at a private clinic in Brusubi.

Col. Bah had served in various capacities in the Gambia Armed Forces. Three years ago, while holding the ranak of a Major, he was commandant GAF Training School. He rose through the ranks and was part of the 10 senior officers who were decorated with the ranks of Colonel by HE President Adama Barrow, Commander -In-Chief of GAF on 7th May 2024.

Until his recent appointment, Colonel Abdoulie Bah was Commanding Officer, 1 Infantry Battalion, Yundum Barracks.
