The Liberté 6 penal camp was the scene of a mutiny on Wednesday. A room search turned into a confrontation between inmates and prison guards. Tensions were high, and tear gas grenades and shots were fired, a prisoner told Seneweb.
“We invite the Minister of Justice to come and resolve the situation. The prison guards are searching our rooms and burning our mattresses”, said the prisoner.
Contacted by Seneweb, a source close to the prison administration said that Indian hemp had been hidden in mattresses that had been burnt.
