The Inspector General of Police, Seedy Mukhtar Touray, visited the Anti-Crime Unit headquarters and the Police Training School in Banjulunding on Friday, April 26, 2024.
During his address, IGP Touray announced the well-deserved promotion of Ancy Jawo, a brave survivor of the tragic Sukuta-Jabang incident, which resulted in a violent confrontation where two officers were fatally shot, leaving Constable Jawo critically injured.
In recognition of her courageous service and recovery, IGP Touray elevated Ancy Jawo from Police Constable to Sergeant. Congratulations to Sgt Ancy Jawo on her promotion. Additionally, the assembly observed a moment of silence to honor the memory of the fallen heroes, particularly PC Pateh Jallow and Sang J. Mendy, whose contributions and sacrifices will never be forgotten.
