A 70-year-old man identified as Madi Ceesay is reported to have committed suicide on Thursday, 28th March 2024 at Jimbala Kerr Cherno in the Central River Region north.
Authorities told LamToro News that a security task force led by CSP Gidom Baldeh of the Kaur Police Station was deployed to the village and were led to the scene of the incident (the deceased person‘s house), where they found him hanging.
When contacted to shed light on the incident, the deputy Police PRO Cadet ASP Modou Musa Sissawo confirmed the incident.
He said: “Yes, it is true that the incident happened.” He added that the family of the deceased and villagers said Madi Ceesay was mentally ill. The deputy police PRO also stated that there was no suspected foul play.
