United Gambia Association in New York Elects New President

The United Gambia Association (UGA) has on Saturday,2nd March elected a new president to steer the affairs of the association. Mr. Pa Saine Njie, former social secretary of the association emerged winner of the election.

The UGA is a community based organization in the state of New York. It’s a non profit making organization with 10 years of existence. The organization  primarily  helps in community service and other important activities that promote community cohesion   and advancement in the State of New York and its environ.    

This noble association contributed significantly to inidividuals and community members in different forms since its inception. 

Since the position of the President  is vacant, the executive committee  announced election to officially put a replacement to the top job.   In this regard, Mrs Fatma Cham, a prominent entrepreneur and business magnate presented her interest in running for election to replace Mr. Ebou Cham. 

“It’s never a soft period during the election period,“ said Mr. Pa Saine Njie who was the former Social Secretary and a member of the association. Mr. Njie is also an outspoken young man with a passion for community service. Both candidates put up  a serious campaign to seek  for office.  The election was held on 2nd March in the State of New York and Mr. Pa Saine Njie was officially confirmed president elect after a well fought campaign period  with the opponent  Fatma Cham. 

Mr Pa Saine Njie, will replace Mr Ebou Cham who was at the helm of affairs for over a decade. 

The election was free and fair. The electoral committee was hailed for conducting a very trasparent election.
