Major reshuffle in the Gambia Police Force

The Gambia Police Force under the leadership of the Inspector General of Police Abdoulie Sanyang, has recently effected a major reshuffle among top echelon of the police command, LTN has learnt.

The reshuffle show Landing Bojang, former AIG of Police Operations being redeployed as the new Crime Management Co-ordinator (CMC), while Demba Sowe, former CMC is redeployed as the AIG of Police Administration. The former AIG of Police Admin Ebrima Bah has also been redeployed as the new AIG in charge of Police Operations.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Adeline Basangeh has bounced back as head of the Police Intervention Unit (PIU). He was at one time head of PIU before proceeding to China for a Master’s Programme.

Commissioner Basangeh replaced Commissioner Pateh Jallow, who has been redeployed as Regional Commissioner in charge of Kanifing Municipality (KM).

Commissioner Pateh Jallow also replaced Commissioner Omar Darboe. Darboe is redeployed to the Central River Region (CRR) as Police Commissioner. He too replaced Commissioner Malamin Sankareh of CRR, who has now proceeded on Leave Of Retirement from the Gambia Police Force.

LTN’s efforts to reach out the Acting Police PRO, Cadet ASP Modou Musa Sissawo on this development within the Gambia Police Force proved futile.
