The Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) has announced the appointment of Mrs. Suwaidu B. Jatta to the position of Director of Human Resource and Administration, effective 1st October 2023. She is reported to have acted in that vacant position since her predecessor’s statutory retirement.
A statement from GPA says: “It is important to note that she was recommended for appointed as the substantive holder by Management, having impressed in her capacity as acting Director of HR and Admin. Mrs Jatta has served the Authority for more than 28 years, rising through the ranks from Admin Assistant, Assistant Admin Manager, Training Manager, Snr Training Manager, and Acting DHRA.“
“She holds a Bachelors degree in HRM from Bolton in UK 2012 and masters Degree in HRM from Accra University in 2018. She has also benefitted from numerous training, both overseas and local, thus assuming her new position with the requisite qualifications and experience. The Board, Management, and staff wish Mrs Jatta success in her new role. Congratulations Mrs Jatta,“ the statement concludes.
