Comedian Alhagie Bora Sisawo has been granted bail by the Gambia Police Force. He was invited for questioning on Sunday by the police at Kairaba Station.

Media reports suggest Alhagie Bora is being investigated for his remarks about his opinion on the recent military coup in Niger, the arrest of Senegalese citizens who protested in Gambia against their leader President Macky Sall during his visit to The Gambia last week, etc.

However, he is asked to report on bail to the police station tomorrow but has not yet been charged.

Meanwhile, human rights activists, media personnel and many Gambians have strongly condemned his arrest, saying it is an intimidation tactic aimed at silencing critics of the Barrow government.
