Magistrate Mben Faal gives Pap Ndow ultimatum to open defence

Magistrate Mben Faal of the Kanifing Magistrate’s Court has on Monday, 24th July 2023 given Abdoulie Ndow widely known as Pap Ndow an ultimatum to open defence in his trial in the next adjourned date slated for Monday, 31st July before she delivers her judgment.

She made this decision following Pap Ndow’s decision not to open defence at the Monday’s sitting eventhough his lawyer (Lawyer Forster) was present at the court house.

Readers would recall that the case was earlier on 12th July adjourned for the accused person Pap Ndow to open defence.

However, Pap Ndow and his lawyer were not prepared to open defence at the last sitting and the magistrate decided to adjourned the case again.

The accused Pap Ndow is being charged with obtaining money by false pretense and with intent to defraud, contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.

The plaintiff (victim) has claimed that the accused (defendant) has defrauded her with over D2M, the money she had planned to use for the purchase of building materials and household items for her new house.

The accused is expected to open defence on the next adjourned date.
