Magistrate Mben Faal of the Kanifing Magistrate’s Court has on Tuesday, 11th July 2023 overruled the submission for a no-case-to-answer made by defence counsel Forster on behalf of his client Abdoulie Ndow widely known as Pap Ndow in his alleged criminal trial before the Magistrate’s Court. She urged the accused person to open defence following the completion of witness testimonies from the prosecution.
The accused Pap Ndow is being charged with obtaining money by false pretense and with intent to defraud, contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.
The plaintiff (victim) has claimed that the accused (defendant) has defrauded her with over D2M, the money she had planned to use for the purchase of building materials and household items for her new house.
The accused is expected to open defence on the next adjourned date.
