Forex Bureaus in The Gambia have decided to embark on a sit-down strike effective May 3, 2023.
The Asociation of Licensed Forex Bureaux (ALFOB) indicated in a press release dated 27th April 2023 that all foreign exchange bureaus in The Gambia will close down business effective 3rd May 2023 until further notice due to the implementation of the Central Bank of The Gambia’s reference rate.
ALFOB further stated that this decision was taken unanimously and will be implemented. The association also promised to inform customers and the general public and will guide them to use other alternative channels to receive or send monies until further notice.
