NPP Youth Wing seeks police permit to hold peaceful anti-corruption procession

The Youth Wing of the National People’s Party (NPP), the Gambia’s ruling party has applied for a police permit to organize a peaceful anti-corruption procession.

A leaked letter dated 7th March 2023, with Reference number NPP/YWS/004/23 making rounds on social media, and signed by Hon. Kebba Madi Bojang, President of NPP National Youth Wing indicates that the party intends to hold this peaceful procession on 16th March 2023 from 11 am to 15pm.

“We intend to march from McCarthy Square to the gate of the National Assembly Building to hand over a petition to the lawmakers, expressing our grave concerns regarding the deplorable conditions of the councils due to corruption and to implore the honourable members to expedite the enactment of the anti-corruption bill,“ the letter reads.
