The President of the Malian Transition received in audience, the Khalifa General of the Faydatoul Tidjanie (Khalif General of Medina Baye in Kaolack, Senegal), Cheikh Mahi Ibrahima Niass.
The meeting between the two great personalities focused on peace and stability in Mali and the sub-region.
At the beginning of his remarks, the Senegalese ambassador thanked the President of the Transition and the followers of the Fayda Tidjaniya “who were kind enough to invite the august Khalifa of the Faydaa Tidjaniya for the annual Ziyara held in Segou. This testifies to the strong ties between our two peoples,” he said.
“As a religious leader, it is quite normal that the Khalifa comes to pay a courtesy visit to the Head of State, as Islam teaches us. It was also an opportunity for the Sheikh to offer prayers for peace and happiness for the transitional authorities and the Malian people,” he remarked.
