Mr. Cherno Amadou Sowe, the newly appointed Director General of Internal Audit is a career banker.

Mr. Sowe holds an MBA from the University of Lincoln in the UK, a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance from the IFS University College in London, and an ACCA London.

The Gambia’s new Director General of Internal Audit is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of California, USA.

The president of the Republic HE Adama Barrow, in consultation with the Executive and the Public Service Commission (PSC), approved the renowned banker‘s appointment as Director General of Internal Audit last week. Following the approval, a press release signed by the Gambia Government’s Spokesperson Ebrima G. Sankareh, was issued on 30th January 2023, announcing Mr. Sowe’s appointment including the redeployment and appointments of other senior government officials within the civil and foreign services respectively.

Congratulations Mr. Sowe and congratulations to the president and government for such a good pick to serve in this very important position.
