Senegal’s investigative journalist cum proprietor of Dakar Martin, Pape Alé Niang, was remanded on Tuesday, 20th December 2022, after his face-to-face meeting with Justice Mamadou Seck of the High Court in Dakar, Senegal.
Mr. Niang who was recently granted bail, was arrested at his home yesterday evening by members of the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC).
News monitored from Senegal indicated that the investigating judge of the second cabinet, Mamadou Seck, had issued a warrant to Commissioner Adramé Sarr, head of the DIC, to bring in the investigative journalist. This new charge is linked to his posts on social networks, targeting the director of the National Police, which were deleted yesterday.
