OBITUARY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Chief of Defence Staff Gambia Armed Forces Lieutenant General Yakuba A Drammeh, the Deputy Chief of Defence Staff, the Commanders Gambia National Army, Gambia Navy, Republican National Guards, General Officers, Soldiers and Ratings of the Gambia Armed Forces regret to announce the untimely demise of Major Lamin Jammeh. This sad event occurred on Monday 12 December 2022 at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul. The late Major Lamin Jammeh was enlisted into the Gambia Armed Forces on 09 September 1987 and rose through various military ranks. Until his demise, the late Senior Officer was the Administrative Officer of the Defence Headquarters Camp in Yundum. He passed away at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 5 days. During his days of Service, he has always been a distinguished and industrious individual.
This sad news of the Senior Officer’s passing is extended to His Excellency the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces Mr Adama Barrow, the Honourable Minister of Defence Sering Modou Njie, the general public, relatives and friends in The Gambia and abroad.
The deceased Major Lamin Jammeh will be laid to rest at his home village in Gunjur on Tuesday 13 December 2022.
