GTU reacts to PIU manhandling of Kotu SSS teacher, threatens action against the police

The Gambia Teachers Union (GTU) has reacted to the manhandling of a teacher at Kotu Senior Secondary School by officers of the Police Intervention Unit (PIU). The GTU condemned the police against Mr. Lamin Sillah, the teacher who was put in handcuffs and driven around town before being taken to the Senegambia Police Station.

The teachers union issued a statement and promised to take up the matter with the police high command, the Gambia Bar Association, and the Human Rights Commission to ensure that justice is served.
