Modou Njie

Modou Njie, the director of Health Promotion and Education at the Ministry of Health has bagged an international appointment, LTN has learnt. Mr. Njie is the new National Coordinator of Western Regional Coordination Centres with Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention in Abuja, Nigeria and his appointment was effective on 1st November 2022.

“The Ministry of Health on Thursday bade farewell to Mr. Njie in a colourful ceremony attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Health and other staff,“ the Health Ministry posted in its Facebook page. Mr. Njie‘s responsibility includes overseeing between five and ten countries in West Africa.

“Mr. Njie has served the Ministry of Health in various capacities for 30 years, ranging from field Public Health Officer to a Director. Modou Njie is the architect of the Directorate of Health Promotion and Education. He has contributed immensely to the success stories of the Ministry of Health. He mentored and contributed to the development of people of all walks of life. A great loss to the nation, but certainly a significant gain for Africa. The management of the Ministry of Health wishes you (Njie) well in your new position and future endeavours,“ the Health Ministry stated.
