ASP Mariama Barry receives award in recognition of her contribution to the transformation of Sudanese Police Force

ASP Mariama Barry was on Sunday awarded in Sudan, for her contribution to the transformation of the Sudanese Police Force under the UN Peacekeeping mission.

Reacting to this development, ASP Barry, said on her Facebook page:

“Tears of joy on a special award in recognition of my little contributions to the development/transformation of the Sudan Police Force. Despite the many challenges as a young female leader in a male-dominated leadership/field I still owe it to humanity. Serving for the betterment of Sudan and its people will continue to be my strength and motivational tool. Every recognition is important and valuable but one outside home climax every pride with great happiness. Building Trust between United Nations and the host country is one of the fundamental principles we owe to the organization.

Thanking everyone who sees me through this journey but most importantly my institution the Gambia Police Force and the Government of the Gambia for giving me this opportunity to represent its beautiful and smiling colors as a member country of the UN πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡³
