Witness tenders receipts of payment in Pap Ndow’s trial

The first Prosecution Witness (PW1) in the trial of Abdoulie Ndow, widely known as Pap Ndow on Thursday, 18th August 2022, tendered several receipts, being payments she made to the accused Pap Ndow, for the purchase of household items and building materials for her new house, which she told the court, were not bought.

Ms. Aminata FM (PW1) presented her receipts, which were all admitted and marked as exhibits by the presiding magistrate Mben Faal of the Kanifing Magistrate’s Court.

The accused person Pap Ndow, who was not represented by any lawyer at the last sitting on Thursday, decided to cross-examine the witness by himself, following the tendering of the receipts.

The trial magistrate Mben Faal then adjourned the case to Monday, 22nd, Wednesday, 24th, and Thursday, 25th August 2022 respectively.

The accused Pap Ndow is charged with obtaining money by false pretense and with intent to defraud, contrary to the Criminal Code, Laws of The Gambia.

The complainant has claimed that the accused has defrauded her with over D2M, the money she had planned to use for the purchase of her household items for her new house.
