A young Gambian nurse Ndey Penda Mboob has on 6th July 2022 graduated as the best student in the Department of Nursing at the Eastern Mediterranean University, Cyprus in Turkey.

She studied Nursing and is now a fully trained nurse. The young Gambian nurse had served as the first student assistant in the department of nursing(in English); received Rector’s award for outstanding academic excellence every semester; served as assistant secretary of the Gambian students association in Cyprus, and has also held the position as social and Financial secretary of the Gambian Students Society of Eastern Mediterranean University. 

Speaking to LamToro News in a Telephone interview, Ndey Penda Mboob said, on July 6th, about 400 students graduated from the faculty of Health Sciences and School of Health Services. 

“I graduated as the best student in the department of Nursing (both English and Turkish), second place in the Faculty of health sciences and school of health services, and with High Honours,“ she told LamToro News.

“We had an oath-taking ceremony organised by our faculty (on July 4th), where I gave a speech on behalf of all English-speaking students in the faculty and was awarded as well,“ she stated.

Ndey Penda was the former head girl of the Gambia Methodist Academy from 2015-2016.
