Operatives of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency, The Gambia (DLEAG) took into custody eight people arrested at diverse places across the country for possession of suspected prohibited drugs.
Six (6) of the suspects were arrested in the West Coast Region, one (1) in the Kanifing Municipality and the other one (1) in the Upper River Region.
54 years old Alagie Jobarteh, 38 years old Alagie Ceesay, 47 years old Ebrima Jatta, 18 years old Abubacarr Sey, 42 years old Suwaibou Sonko and 26 years old Alagie Badjie were apprehended in Brikama on the 26 June 2022 around 18:10 hours GMT onwards with nine (9) big bundles of suspected cannabis sativa.
28 years old Muhammed Sankareh was nabbed on the 27 June 2022 around 18:00 hours GMT onwards with three (3) bundles of suspected cannabis sativa at Medina Balla Village, Kantora District in the Upper River Region. The means of conveyance was a motorcycle.
In the Kanifing Municipality, 26 years old Ansumana Jarsey was arrested at London Corner on the 28 June 2022 around 11:34 hours GMT onwards with one (1) bundles and eleven (11) parcels of suspected cannabis sativa.
All the suspects were taken into custody while operatives further probe into their matters.
